Screening
Early Childhood Screening is a free quick and simple check of how your child is growing and developing between the ages of 3 and 4. The goal of screening is to detect possible health or learning concerns, so that children can get help before they start school. At your child’s screening, trained professionals will check your child’s height and weight, vision, hearing and immunization status. They will also check to see how your child’s large and small muscles are developing, how their thinking, language and communication skills are progressing, as well as how they are developing socially and emotionally. Early Childhood Screening is required for entrance in Minnesota’s public schools or within 30 days of enrollment into kindergarten.
